The DVD release of the Butterfly Ball concert

In September 1975 I staged a concert of The Butterfly Ball at the Albert Hall, London, and as far as possible gathered together as many of the performers as I could from the recording of the original album, which was released the previous year. The event was recorded and filmed by Tony Klinger and British Lion Films and the resulting movie is what is now being re-released in DVD format by a company called MusicVideoDistributors.

It was fourty years ago today…

1st April 2005. Today is an anniversary.

1st April 1965 – 40 years ago today – I first stepped onto a stage with Episode Six as a professional musician, having decided to drop out of Hornsey Art College.

In Frankfurt, one flight up from the street, it was at a club that could hold about 150 people – The Tanz-CafĂ© Acadia, Grosse Friedberger Strasse (I believe it is now a shoe store).

Christmas Message

This is my Christmas message without the aid og a spellchecker. I thank everyobe for visiting my website, so ably handled by Andreus Thul (thank you Andi).

I I would foirst of all like to aploogixe to all those whose questo=ions have remained unanswered for such a long time. The truth is that Andi sends them to me and somehow life seems to intervene and so they sit on my hard drive covered in digital dust while I galivant off around the place a sif I had somethiing better to do.

US and Canada tour 2004

Here are a few images from our recent tour of the US and Canada.

There were three bands on the bill and we all got along famously, a great deal of mutual respect around. Thin Lizzy were true professionals, always giving 100%. Joe Satriani needs little introduction from me, his stage presence is riveting and the members of his band great musicians all.

2004 Russian tour report

This a tour of seventeen cities spread across parts of what was, until relatively recently, known as the Soviet Union and now called Russia and the Ukraine. As I write this, we are roughly at the halfway point and not yet in the Ukraine.

Because of the vast distances, we are traveling on our own chartered, three-engined plane, a YAK 42, and it’s really quite easy.
