Art Gallery

Here are some of my attempts at drawing and painting. I will add more to these periodically.

I went to Hornsey Art College in 1963. How much I learned there I know not, but I had fun exploring many things, some of which concerned art. I have, and will continue to, include some early work so that you can see how much I’ve progressed/regressed.

In 1965 I dropped out of college to be a full time musician and so painting is now just a pastime. I don’t paint every day, or even every year, but there are periods when I do seem to have done quite a lot (for example there are many pieces from 1985, I don’t know why, maybe I had time on my hands then).

I paint for my own amusement and do not sell or even exhibit. There are abstract and representational works, I enjoy both. Maybe I am seeking a particular form of expression although to my mind I haven’t yet found one.

Occasionally I will donate a piece to a charity but other than that they gather dust and take up space in my basement – apart from the odd piece I hang in the house. However, having a website has given me the opportunity to dust it off and put it on display for your entertainment, amusement, derision, whatever. I hope you enjoy it in some way, and thanks for looking.

Hi Roger, for years I’m a big, big fan of your work. Saw you a lot of times in the Netherlands. “The Mask/Fake it” are my favourites. The Sweet postcard looks absolutely fantastic. Where did the inspiration come from? Is this because Mick Tucker played together with Ian Gillan?

Hi Roger, I meant the pastel “Smoke on the water”. It is beautiful. In the meantime I was lucky to buy a print of the watercolour “City painted red” from the Cologne exhibition. Both very passionate and impressive! Thank you

We’ve met on several occasions. IG has always been kind enough providing BSP for myself and my daughters. I am the guy who did the portrait of Jon (Ian is going to pass it on to Vicky, saying it was too beautiful to keep to himself)
In any event, admire your skill (the one with brushes and not strings)
Would like to know how to acquire one, if at all possible. There’s no dust to collect on my walls.
To close… Absolutely enjoyed our chat regarding Accidentally ON PURPOSE. Indeed… They are all about sperm. 😉

    Hello Mr. Glover

Thank you very very much for your “help” in Stuttgart, I hope you found my art at the backstage also interresting. Now me and my family we have to “climb the mountain” (as we say in Greece) and see how it will go with the chemical Treatment and the surgery. I wish one day i pay back this kindness of yours.

    Yours sincerely

Hi Roger, I’m a fan of Deep Purple, from the 15 years I always wanted to play bass and get to play this instrument like you. I just wanted to express my admiration for a great musician as you are.

    I appreciate
I paint too and I find myself imagine you like someone very sensitive.
The fact that you have save drawings dated of 1964 is a sign of just that !
I thought that very poignant when I read the date on your drawings !
Your message in your art gallery is full of modesty.
Others around you have to adore you !
All these qualities are noticeable on your face !! What is your last or next drawing ?
Your children perhaps ? Sorry for my poor English language…

    Hi Roger,
Just a quick note to enquire how the band are coping with the loss of Mr Lord and how it may have affected the recording process Just bought the studio Concerto CD, I don’t think music will see his like again, be it rock or classical. Anyway, looking forward to the new album, as a fifty plus lifelong fan from Llanelli, it always gives me great pleasure to introduce my son’s friends to the the band and watch their reactions.
